Training Specialist

I'm partnering with a growing industrial organization looking to add an experienced Training Specialist to support workforce development, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance across a large-scale industrial operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on training professional who enjoys developing and delivering training programs, working closely with operational teams, and helping build a strong training culture within a safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, coordinate, maintain, and deliver training programs for employees, contractors, and other site personnel.
• Create and update training materials, assessments, job aids, and On-the-Job Training (OJT) guides.
• Deliver classroom, hands-on, and blended learning programs while supporting trainers and subject matter experts.
• Maintain accurate training records, course content, and employee information within the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Coordinate training schedules and provide management with reporting on completion, compliance, deficiencies, and training effectiveness.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of structured training processes across the organization.
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, safety, engineering, contractors, and external training providers to ensure workforce readiness.

What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of training experience within mining, chemical processing, manufacturing, heavy industry, or another safety-critical environment.
• Proven experience developing, coordinating, or delivering workforce training programs.
• Experience creating training materials, assessments, OJT programs, or practical evaluations.
• Experience delivering classroom and hands-on training to operational personnel.
• Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) and maintaining training records.
• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple training programs and priorities simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently.

Preferred Experience
• Previous experience within mining or chemical processing environments.
• Experience supporting a greenfield project, plant startup, commissioning, or operational ramp-up.
• Experience working with a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) framework.
• MSHA or OSHA training experience.
• MSHA Part 48 trainer certification or willingness to obtain.
• Train-the-trainer or instructional design experience.
• Experience developing and coordinating OJT programs.
• Experience supporting the implementation or startup of an LMS or training management system.
