Underground Nippers
NES Fircroft is seeking underground Nippers for an initial three-month engagement at a major underground mining operation.
Temporary to Permanent opportunity
Duties will include:
- Maintaining clean and safe drill headings and work area
- Transporting tools, materials and supplies underground
- Conducting pre-start inspections and basic equipment check
- Supporting production and development activities as required
- Following all site procedures and underground safety requirement
- Off siding Jumbo Operators and other drill-rig operators
- Assisting with the setup and relocation of underground drill rigs
- Handling drill steels, hoses, cables and drilling consumables
- Supplying ground-support materials and other equipment to drill crews
Role requirements
- Previous underground hard-rock mining experience
- Previous Nipper or drill-crew offsiding experience will be highly regarded
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Relevant underground competencies and tickets
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to work effectively with underground drill crews
- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical and functional assessment
- Australian working rights
