We are currently recruiting a Site Construction Engineer on a contract until 30th June 2028 for a Major Global Oil & Gas Operator.

The successful candidate will support efficient construction delivery by focusing on forward-looking readiness within the operating LNG facility.
Reporting to the Site Representative, the role strengthens contractor performance and delivery predictability by improving workface preparedness, method robustness, logistics integration, and early visibility of emerging execution risk across civil, SMP, electrical and instrumentation scopes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing forward-looking execution readiness by assessing upcoming workfronts for constructability, access, sequencing, logistics, SIMOPS compatibility, and operational constraints prior to mobilisation.
  • Leading constructability reviews and method evaluations for upcoming scopes, including civil-to-mechanical handover, module transportation, laydown and installation, crossover platform works, piping, tubing, and E&I activities, with emphasis on safe and efficient execution readiness.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve execution efficiency and productivity through method optimisation, sequencing refinement, and early resolution of interface, access, logistics, engineering, or constructability constraints ahead of the workface.
  • Supporting cross-discipline execution planning across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation interfaces, with particular focus on installation readiness, engineering integration, and operational integration.
  • Supporting timely resolution of Technical Queries (TQs), engineering clarifications, and constructability issues affecting upcoming construction execution.
  • Reviewing engineering deliverables, drawings, field changes, and proposed execution methodologies to identify impacts on constructability, sequencing, workface readiness, and operational interfaces.
  • Supporting implementation of approved MOC-F&O modifications and identifying field conditions that may require additional engineering review or change assessment.
  • Supporting management of construction redlines and preparation of as-built documentation associated with brownfield modifications and project close-out.
  • Tracking and trending contractor progress, productivity signals, and readiness indicators to surface emerging delivery risk or inefficiency before it materialises at the workface.
  • Escalating developing execution, logistics, engineering, or interface issues to the Site Representative with clear facts, recommended mitigations, and timing implications.
  • Supporting SIMOPS planning by identifying forward congestion points, access conflicts, and sequencing risks inherent in upcoming work scopes.
  • Providing analytical and field-informed input to improve predictable delivery outcomes, without assuming authority for contractor supervision, task assignment, or crew-level execution.
  • The Site Construction Engineer supports execution intervention exclusively through the Site Representative.
Key experience required:
  • Brownfields Construction Readiness and execution experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting construction execution within live operating oil and gas or LNG facilities, with a strong focus on execution readiness, constructability, engineering interface management, and operational integration.
  • Proven exposure to brownfield environments involving active plant interfaces, access constraints, and SIMOPS conditions.
  • Experience spanning civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical or instrumentation scopes, with strength in mechanical installation, modularisation, SMP-related activities, brownfield facility modifications, or management of multi-discipline construction interfaces within operating facilities.
  • Exposure to electrical and instrumentation construction activities within brownfield operating facilities will be viewed favourably.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 10 years’ experience
  • Previous experience in a site-based construction engineering role
  • Previous experience with Technical Queries, asset management-of-change, as-building, and construction completions documentation
  • Good leadership skills – including the ability to work well with both the construction contractors and asset operations
  • Experience working in a construction environment, capital projects and brownfields exposure is beneficial
