Cost Estimation Lead

🔄 Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF
📅 Work Schedule: 6 Days per Week
Working Hours: 8-10 Hours per Day

Job Purpose We are seeking an experienced Cost Estimation Lead to join a major Oil & Gas project in Qatar. The successful candidate will coordinate with project teams and contractors in developing classified and unclassified cost estimates, estimate confidence packages, and cost estimating plans. This role plays a critical part in ensuring project cost predictability and successful project delivery through robust estimating practices.

Key Responsibilities
✅ Prepare classified and unclassified cost estimates during EPC phases.

✅ Develop and maintain Estimation Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS/WBS).

✅ Review contractor change proposals and prepare internal cost estimates.

✅ Develop benchmarking measures and reporting systems to achieve best-in-class performance.

✅ Perform quantity take-offs from:

  • Civil Drawings
  • Structural Drawings
  • Piping Drawings
  • Electrical Single Line Diagrams
  • P&IDs
✅ Coordinate development of cost and schedule estimates with project teams.

✅ Implement and steward project controls, estimating processes, and systems.

✅ Conduct cost estimating workshops and briefing sessions.

✅ Support lessons learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

✅ Interface with multiple stakeholders to resolve estimating-related issues.

Requirements
Education
🎓 Bachelor's Degree in:

  • Engineering

Experience
✔ Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a related business function.

✔ Minimum 4 years of Oil & Gas industry experience.

✔ Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory, acting leadership, or contractor oversight role.

Technical & Business Skills
✅ Strong knowledge of cost estimating methodologies and tools.

✅ Experience with EPC projects.

✅ Understanding of WBS/CBS structures.

✅ Ability to prepare material quantity take-offs from engineering drawings.

✅ Proficiency in:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Power BI (Intermediate Level)
✅ Excellent communication and presentation skills.

✅ Strong planning, organization, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
