Financial Planning and Performance (FP&P) forms part of the Finance Division and is primarily responsible for Finance Business Partnering and Planning across the Woodside Group.  FP&P teams support the business by providing financial insight and analysis to management to allow cost management and planning and support decision making. 
We are seeking skilled finance professionals who are passionate about finance and eager to make a global impact while contributing to the future of Woodside.

About the role
The Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting the FP&P teams to deliver efficient global finance management accounting and reporting services.  The role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of FP&P finance business partnering services to the business.
The Finance Analyst works closely with key Finance stakeholders including FP&P finance teams, Woodside Global Solutions team in Bengaluru and where required Asset and Project teams.  The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and service delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
Provide management accounting support to Woodside finance and business teams to ensure the timely and accurate execution of month end reporting and compliance activities. Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Perform month end tasks including journals, accruals and cost reallocation.
  • Prepare cost reviews and analysis and variance commentary.
  • Prepare cost reports for delivery to FP&P and stakeholders.
  • Provide support for budgeting and forecasting process including system data loading and reconciliations.
  • Prepare Asset/Project Joint Venture cash calls.
  • Prepare periodic cost center residual clearing analysis.
  • Execute SOX control activities, maintain supporting documentation, and assist with control testing requirements.
  • Provide support to Finance Business Partners assisting with response to cost related queries from stakeholders.
  • Support finance inputs for half year and year end processes including lease and commitment analysis.
  • Prepare cost invoicing for tolling, secondees and cost recovery from JVPs.
  • Review monthly Joint Venture billing and cash statements.
  • Coordinate master data creation and close out.
  • Supporting finance inputs for contracting and procurement, completion of contractor financial due diligence reviews.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by gathering evidence and providing required documentation.
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control compliance.
  • Provide flexible coverage across finance teams activities and undertake additional duties as required to support business priorities.
Skills & Experience: 
  • 5+ years of experience in management accounting roles or a similar finance role that supports company functions and assets.
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) or progress towards completion is desirable.
  • Familiarity with internal control, SOX compliance requirements, and audit support processes
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with global internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and alignment with the Woodside Values
  • Experience with SAP S4HANA (required)
  • Microsoft Office applications with strong excel skills
