Our client is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join their laboratory team, providing high-quality analytical and scientific support across operational sites and business functions.
The laboratory team plays a key role in ensuring accurate testing, analysis, and reporting to support safe and reliable operations. This position reports directly to the Laboratory Team Leader and will work closely with both onshore and offshore stakeholders.
Based full-time at the Longford Gas Plant in Victoria, this role offers the opportunity to work within a site-based operational environment, with occasional exposure to offshore activities.

Key Responsibilities
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Collecting samples from onsite and offsite locations.
- Conducting laboratory testing, analysis, and quality checks.
- Completing routine laboratory housekeeping and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate records through computer-based systems.
- Ensuring all laboratory activities are completed in accordance with quality, safety, and integrity requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory environment.
- Collaborating with operational teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable laboratory outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A qualification in Science or a related discipline (highly regarded).
- Previous experience working in a laboratory, analytical, or technical environment.
- A current driver's licence (preferred).
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- The ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- A strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Contract Duration: 12-month contract (view to extend)
- Location: Longford Gas Plant, Victoria
- Start Date: ASAP
- Work Environment: Site-based role with occasional opportunities to support offshore activities
