We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Engineering professional to provide technical support across fixed plant assets, with a strong focus on reliability, plant performance and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong fixed plant background who enjoys solving equipment issues, improving asset performance and delivering practical engineering solutions.

The Role You will be responsible for:
  • Providing mechanical engineering support to production and maintenance teams.
  • Driving reliability improvements to reduce downtime and lifecycle costs.
  • Completing mechanical design work from concept through to execution.
  • Delivering OPEX improvement projects within budget and schedule.
  • Supporting CAPEX projects as an engineering stakeholder.
  • Monitoring plant performance and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Conducting Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on equipment failures and recurring issues.
  • Assessing asset criticality and implementing reliability strategies.
  • Supporting Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Providing technical guidance to tradespeople, planners and junior engineers.
About You to be successful, you will ideally have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.
Strong fixed plant experience across equipment such as:
  • Crushers
  • Conveyors
  • Grinding mills
  • Flotation equipment
  • Tanks
  • Tailings systems
  • Experience in reliability, maintenance engineering and asset management.
  • Experience using a CMMS, preferably SAP.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience delivering maintenance or engineering improvement projects.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with operations and maintenance teams.
Experience with RCFA, asset criticality assessments, reliability improvement programs and MOC will be highly regarded.
