Senior Project Engineer – Offshore Decommissioning
Location: Docklands, VIC
Contract: 18 months
Roster: Office-based with offshore 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off during key execution phases
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support a major offshore decommissioning campaign involving the preparation, removal, transportation and onshore load-in of approximately 13 offshore platforms, comprising around 32,000 tonnes of topsides and 57,000 tonnes of steel jackets. The campaign will involve offshore facility preparation, demolition, heavy-lift vessel operations, subsea construction, transportation and onshore load-in and set-down. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a technically complex offshore campaign from planning and readiness through to execution.
About the Role
You will provide senior engineering and project support across planning, execution readiness and offshore delivery, working closely with engineering, operations, marine and contractor teams.

About the Role
You will provide senior engineering and project support across planning, execution readiness and offshore delivery, working closely with engineering, operations, marine and contractor teams.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Readiness
- Lead and contribute to project deliverables, procedures, execution plans and technical reviews.
- Provide engineering and execution input into safety cases, site safety plans and environmental/regulatory approvals.
- Coordinate complex interfaces across project, engineering, operations, supply chain and contractor teams.
- Support schedule development, vessel mobilisation and stakeholder coordination.
- Lead and participate in HAZID, risk assessments and risk/opportunity management.
- Support vessel audits, regulatory readiness, safety onboarding and emergency response planning.
- Coordinate Installation Readiness Reviews and mobilisation readiness activities.
- Ensure engineering and project deliverables are complete and ready for execution.
- Transition into a field engineering leadership role during offshore execution.
- Provide engineering and project leadership to support safe and efficient offshore delivery.
- Support vessel management teams with Management of Change processes.
- Coordinate engineering, construction and operational interfaces offshore.
- Monitor execution against approved plans, procedures and schedules.
- Identify and resolve emerging technical and operational issues.
- Promote strong safety, environmental and operational performance throughout execution.
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Approximately 15 years' experience in project execution, marine construction, heavy construction or offshore projects.
- Strong experience within oil & gas, offshore construction, marine operations or decommissioning.
- Proven experience taking projects from planning and readiness through to offshore execution.
- Strong understanding of heavy-lift vessels, marine construction and complex offshore operations.
- Knowledge of Australian regulatory and permitting requirements.
- Strong project management, planning, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and influencing capability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex and changing project environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental performance.
