NES Fircroft is recruiting a Senior Project Engineer with EX lead project experience for our client. They are a leader in floating technologies for the oil and gas industry, and the office is in Rotterdam, Netherlands. 12-month contract with possibility of long-term extension.
Purpose
As a Senior Project Engineer, you play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of complex projects. With a minimum of 10 years of experience, you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating all technical and administrative project activities, ensuring the project objectives are met efficiently and within budget and time constraints. This senior role requires strong leadership and in-depth expertise across multiple project disciplines.

Purpose
As a Senior Project Engineer, you play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of complex projects. This senior role requires strong leadership and in-depth expertise across multiple project disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Is responsible for the overall management of Ex compliance activities throughout the project.
- Is responsible for surveillance & Support of Ex activities (Engineering +Supply Chain +Construction)
- Is in charge of interfaces between disciplines /project phases regarding Ex compliance on Project.
- Is accountable for the issuance of the monthly Ex project matrix and dashboard and their accuracy.
- Is responsible for delivery and maintenance of the Project Ex assurance Plan and Project Ex specification.
- Prepares the Project Ex matrix with the Ex project Data-coordinator, ensuring this tool covers all follow up and reporting required by Project Management Team during all project phases.
- Coordinates with Area Project Managers (APM) for Construction to ensure that Ex requirements are understood and accounted for CONTRACTOR/YARD proposal submissions and bid evaluations.
- Coordinates with Project Procurement Managers (PPM) for Supply Chain to ensure that Ex requirements are understood and accounted for SUPPLIER proposal submissions and bid evaluations.
- Ensures that same Ex requirements are part of the SUBCONTRACTOR contract and relevant exhibits.
- Manages the SUPPLIER Ex Compliance surveillance (quality assurance at project level), capturing deficiencies or clarifications required by project reviews based on inspection reports.
- Coordinates with Construction Quality Managers and Site Ex Lead to ensure that the Ex-requirements as specified in the Project Ex specifications and equipment specifications are adequately incorporated by SUBCONTRACTOR/YARD(s) in their relevant documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 10 years' experience in project engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience leading projects from an EX (explosive) technical expertise.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective time management and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
