Automation Integrator II
Location: Kermit Main Field Office (Permian Basin)
Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off
Overview: Oxy is looking for an experienced Automation Integrator II to support automation, controls, and digital field technologies. This role focuses on improving the efficiency, reliability, and safety of oil & gas production facilities.

Overview: Oxy is looking for an experienced Automation Integrator II to support automation, controls, and digital field technologies. This role focuses on improving the efficiency, reliability, and safety of oil & gas production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support automation and control systems for upstream operations
- Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot PLC, RTU, HMI, and SCADA systems
- Develop and maintain control logic, communication networks, and system documentation
- Support field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, etc.)
- Configure industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, DNP3)
- Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance to identify improvement opportunities
- Troubleshoot automation issues and perform root cause analysis
- Ensure systems meet safety, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements
- Support capital projects, facility startups, upgrades, and expansions
- Maintain documentation for system changes and commissioning activities
- Assist with alarm management, data reporting, and operational visibility
- Provide on-call/after-hours technical support during rotation
- Associate degree (or higher) in Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical/Computer Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of industrial automation experience (oil & gas, petrochemical, or manufacturing)
- Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)
- Experience with SCADA systems, HMI development, and industrial networking
- Strong understanding of instrumentation, process controls, and automation systems
- Ability to read P&IDs, loop drawings, and control narratives
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in upstream oil & gas production
- Familiarity with SCADA platforms (Ignition, Wonderware, CygNet, AVEVA)
- Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity practices
- Experience with wireless/radio communications and remote telemetry
- ISA or other automation certifications
- Primarily field-based across Permian Basin facilities
- Frequent travel to well sites, compressor stations, and production facilities
- Exposure to outdoor conditions and industrial environments
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work around operating equipment
