📌Position Summary

The Commissioning Assistant provides technical, administrative, and field‑level support to the commissioning and startup team during the final stages of construction and the transition into operations. The role ensures that systems, equipment, and documentation are properly prepared, verified, and handed over in accordance with project standards, HSE requirements, and the integrated commissioning plan.

🎯 Key Responsibilities
  • System Documentation Control — Maintain commissioning dossiers, checklists, redlines, punch lists, and turnover packages for assigned systems.

  • Permit-to-Work Coordination — Support the issuance, tracking, and closure of PTW for commissioning activities.

  • Field Support — Assist commissioning engineers during equipment inspections, functional tests, leak tests, and system walkdowns.

  • Punch List Management — Log, categorize, and track punch items to closure using project tools (e.g., ICAPS, WinPCS, or equivalent).

  • Schedule & Progress Tracking — Update progress reports, KPIs, and readiness dashboards for subsystem and system completions.

  • Vendor & Contractor Interface — Coordinate vendor mobilization, site access, and support during equipment testing and troubleshooting.

  • HSE Compliance Support — Ensure all commissioning activities follow project HSE rules, including SIMOPS and isolation procedures.

  • Material & Tool Coordination — Track availability of commissioning spares, consumables, and special tools.

  • Communication & Reporting — Prepare daily reports, meeting minutes, and action logs for commissioning leadership.

  • Technical Literacy in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or process systems.

  • Familiarity with Commissioning Software (ICAPS, WinPCS, CMS tools).

  • Strong HSE Awareness aligned with client standards

  • Organisational Skills for managing large volumes of documentation.

  • Communication Skills for interfacing with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work in remote desert environments, rotating shifts, and multicultural teams.

🎓 Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, chemical).
  • 2–5 years of experience in commissioning or construction support on oil & gas, petrochemical, or power projects.
  • Knowledge of  international codes (API, IEC, ASME) is an advantage.
  • Any previous experience in a JV environment is an advantage
  • Currently holding IQAMA Status, or Saudi local

🌍 Work Environment & Project Context
  • Based on a large integrated petrochemical complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia
  • Work performed in commissioning offices, control rooms, and field areas.
  • Interaction with EPC contractors, licensors, vendors, and joint‑venture stakeholders.
  • High emphasis on SIMOPS, as commissioning overlaps with construction and early operations.
