Role: Commissioning Lead
Work Location: Aberdeen / Offshore
Accountable Manager: Commissioning Manager
Role Summary
The Commissioning Lead reporting to Commissioning Manager will be an integral part of PDE Project Management Team, working collaboratively within the PDE organization, systems, procedures, and methods. This role has been identified as a “Key Position” within project organization of PDE.
The Commissioning Lead is responsible for monitoring the quality of discipline related documentation on design solutions and all engineering activities within EPC towards all disciplines.
The Commissioning Lead shall ensure that all necessary information to execute commissioning and start-up is made available from all Contractor side.
Commissioning Lead shall ensure that the completion system (PIMS) has the necessary data available to execute system and sub-system definition, have P&ID ready for system boundary mark-up, and information available to develop a well-functioning PIMS
The Commissioning Lead shall also be a part of reviewing all FAT- and SAT procedures and vendor commissioning procedures. A close relation with Engineering, Construction and MC will be required to ensure alignment to plans and progress. Key activities to align will be “The Driving Force” in count down meetings and contribute to ensure Mechanical Completion activities are executed
Accountabilities
• Monitor and coordinate Mechanical Completion and Commissioning activities.
• Ensure that relevant activities within the disciplines are within the company framework and in conformance with contract, Yard Execution Plan, and relevant regulations. The health and safety of personnel, natural and working environment and equipment shall be taken care of.
• Ensure good cooperation, communication and alignment between the base
organization and the project.
• Work with PDE operations team as well as client to ensure clear guidance and
clarifications are provided with regards to scope of work definition.
• Work with JV Yard organization, Internal Team and Client to ensure compliance and verification activities required.
• Participate in review of previous lessons learned and the incorporation of relevant
lessons learned into Completion process.
• Follow-up of interface between all disciplines onboard the FPSO.
• The Commissioning Lead must be active and prepared to work Multifunctionally
both in Process, Utility and Marine Systems, as well as in the Turret area.
• Lead and coordinate N2He Testing together with the Contractor and other
Leads and be involved in the revision of N2He Test packages.
• Contribute to a seamless handover transition to Commissioning, and later from
Commissioning to Operation
• Verify with System Responsible Engineer that systems are ready for Commissioning.
• Coordinate with Contractor to meet Handover dates to Commissioning.
• Assist in planning/execution of commissioning activities in accordance with
commissioning plans and procedures.
• Assist and monitor preparations of commissioning queries.
• Contribute to the Management of Change process and to project risk workshop.
Identify and follow up relevant risk and mitigating actions.
• Assist in arranging Vendor support for commissioning activities.
• Verify with System Responsible Engineer that systems are ready for RFOC.
• Participate in IDC comments verification and approval within commissioning team.
• Prepare commissioning dossiers and procedures.
• Participate in work pack review sessions as well as work packs preparation.
• Report to Commissioning Manager regarding any delays in progress under
his/her area of responsibility.
• Close cooperation with all Discipline Leads
• Participate in meetings, inspections, and tri-party walks.
• Collaborate closely with other key disciplines in the Engineering Team. Call off
assistance from discipline resources.
• Other duties as required by the Commissioning Manager
Qualifications and Experience
• Technical education on Batchelor level or equivalent experience
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience within operation, project execution and
commissioning
• Extensive experience with execution of Construction and MC activities both from
Contractor and Client organizations as well as strong leadership qualities.
• It is an advantage if you have experience from Clients Completion philosophy.
• Lead experience from N2He Testing is an advantage.
• Experience as Commissioning Coordinator or similar.
• Experience in FPSO redeployment is strongly desired.
• Recent experience of working in a similar role on UK North Sea projects will be an
advantage.
• Leadership & interpersonal skills applied to a multidisciplined project team.
• Recent relevant experience in middle east / southeast Asian shipyards is an
advantage.
• Organized, Systematic & Flexible
• English – fluent written and verbal skills
