The Construction Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role involves supervising construction crews, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, and maintaining quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily on-site construction activities and ensure full compliance with all safety regulations.
- Manage construction crews and coordinate the work of subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Resolve construction related disputes and address customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure all work is completed on time and within approved budgets.
- Maintain strict quality standards and verify that workmanship aligns with project specifications.
- Understand safety requirements for managing work during turnarounds.
- Apply knowledge of process welding and quality control.
- Manage critical lifts and ensure all Safe Work Permit documentation is completed accurately.
- Serve as the primary contractor point of contact for site leadership.
- Lead and manage contractor toolbox meetings.
- Review and approve contractor time sheets.
- Use and understand Primavera P6 schedules to manage priorities and support project planning.
- Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Support the preparation of bid documents.
- Assist in preparing and vetting job packages.
- Travel to Corunna St. Clair Canada for turnaround work as required.
- Obtain and maintain a TWIC card and valid passport.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred. Equivalent years of experience will be considered in place of a degree.
- Previous experience in construction supervision or project management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work in a dynamic field environment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and requirements for industrial turnaround work.
- Familiarity with process welding and quality control procedures.
- Experience using Primavera P6.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings such as P&IDs.
