Contract Specialist – Hunter Valley | Contract Opportunity
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Contracts Specialist to join their high-performing team in the Hunter Valley. This role will see you supporting a range of contracts and commercial activities across site, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure effective contract management, compliance, and delivery of commercial outcomes. You’ll be involved across the full contract lifecycle, from supporting procurement and tendering activities through to post-award administration, variations, and contractor performance management.
They are looking for someone with a solid background in contracts and commercial functions within mining or heavy industry, who can operate in a fast-paced environment and contribute to maintaining strong contractor relationships while managing risk and driving value across the portfolio.

This role will see you supporting a range of contracts and commercial activities across site, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure effective contract management, compliance, and delivery of commercial outcomes. You’ll be involved across the full contract lifecycle, from supporting procurement and tendering activities through to post-award administration, variations, and contractor performance management.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end contract lifecycle across a diverse portfolio valued at over $300M.
- Take the lead in contract negotiations with key stakeholders and partners.
- Bring a commercially minded approach to identify, manage, and mitigate contract risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple business areas.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in contracts management, procurement, or commercial roles.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex agreements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving outcomes.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members (desirable but not essential).
- Australian Driver's license
