POSITION SUMMARY
The Cost Analyst is responsible for supporting and coordinating project cost estimation, scheduling, and controls activities across key project milestones. This role contributes to the preparation, validation, and quality assurance of cost estimates and project schedules for both internally managed and externally executed projects.
The position also develops independent benchmark estimates and schedules to evaluate third-party submissions and participates in project assessments to verify cost and schedule assumptions. Additionally, the role supports continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating processes, tools, and quality assurance practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to foundational responsibilities, this role will:
  • Support the development and implementation of baseline cost control systems, including associated processes and documentation
  • Prepare and maintain cost forecasts, trend analyses, and budget monitoring across multiple concurrent projects
  • Analyze project performance, identifying variances such as cost overruns or underruns, and provide recommendations for corrective actions
  • Assist in the review and validation of contractor or third-party cost estimates and schedules
  • Participate in project estimate and schedule reviews to ensure alignment with established assumptions and methodologies
  • Contribute to the enhancement of estimating tools, work flows, and quality assurance processes
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and alignment on project controls activities
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in cost engineering, project controls, or a closely related function
  • Working knowledge of cost estimating, project planning, and project controls methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate effectively across internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used for cost control and project scheduling
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work within cross-functional teams
