Location: Calgary, AB
Length: 9 months (with potential extension)
Rotation: Monday - Friday (Remote)
Role Summary
We are seeking a security professional for the role of Cybersecurity Advisor who can apply deep cybersecurity knowledge to provide holistic advisory services across the enterprise. In collaboration with the IS team and business partners, this role is part of the Cybersecurity Office (CSO) and is responsible for ensuring the safety and resiliency of the company's digital operations.
The Cybersecurity Advisor works closely with the Enterprise Security Architect to deliver on the CSO service mandate, supporting secure business outcomes through strong governance, risk management, and technical advisory leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and non-technical leadership and cybersecurity consulting to operational and project teams to enable strategic business outcomes with secure solutions.
- Leverage company Control Barrier Architecture and cybersecurity standards to evaluate, monitor, and manage the health and effectiveness of security controls and barriers across the enterprise.
- Research and maintain awareness of emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and industry directions to influence future security capabilities.
- Build strong relationships across the organization as a trusted advisor and partner in delivering business outcomes.
- Analyze high-level cyber risks and controls to ensure cost-effective and efficient placement of security barriers and their effectiveness in managing enterprise cyber risk.
- Advise on cybersecurity requirements and support the implementation of security solutions.
- Understand the placement, features, and functionality of technologies and processes that comprise company security architecture, including the threats and risks they mitigate.
- Support the strategic direction of cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives.
Role Scope
- Supports enterprise-wide cybersecurity risk management through advisory services and control assurance.
- Influences security design and decision-making across IT and OT environments.
- Partners with technical and business stakeholders to embed security into projects and operations.
- Contributes to the maturity and effectiveness of cybersecurity governance, standards, and architecture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or a relevant technical certification.
- 5+ years of related experience in Cybersecurity, Information Technology (IT), and/or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Familiarity with one or more security architecture frameworks or standards, including: NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST 800-53, CSA Z246.1, TSA Security Directives, CIS Critical Security Controls, ISA/IEC 62443
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) for SAP S/4HANA.
- Knowledge of or hands-on experience with security technologies such as: Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), VPN, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability management, Access management, SIEM
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Energetic, outcome-focused individual with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and environments.
Qualifications
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly hands-on experience implementing and/or auditing SAP Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including integrations with SAP and non-SAP security tools.
- Experience architecting cybersecurity solutions in OT/ICS environments using the Purdue Model.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, GCIP, GICSP, CSSA, or other recognized cybersecurity certifications.
- Knowledge of or hands-on experience with operational technology systems such as HMI, PLC, and DCS.
