Purpose
- As a Data Governance Specialist, you develop and implement data governance policies and procedures. Support defining data quality, compliance, and data security across the organization. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish best practices and improve data management and integrity.
- Manage data governance tools and platforms to support data governance activities.
- Identify opportunities for improving data management processes and recommend solutions.
- Facilitate data governance training and awareness programs for employees.
- Report on data governance metrics and performance to senior management.
- Lead data governance working groups and committees to drive data governance initiatives.
- Foster a culture of data governance and stewardship within the organization.
- Design, implement, and maintain data security policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with best practice, business and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct continuous data security assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential threats to the organization.
- Implement processes to scale data security initiatives and integrate data protection practices in daily business operation (DLP, IRM, DSPM, AISPM, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team and business units to ensure secure data handling, storage, and transmission across all platforms.
- Lead incident response efforts related to data breaches in collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams, including investigation, reporting, and remediation.
- Develop and enforce robust access management processes to enhance data security and safeguard sensitive information across the organization.
- Provide subject matter expertise on data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR) and advise on compliance strategies.
- Stay up to date on new data security technologies, trends, and rules to proactively enhance our Data Security posture.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Certifications such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), PMP (Project Management Professional), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, demonstrating expertise in data governance and management, are preferred. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and external vendors. A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance strategies and frameworks.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex data infrastructures, including cloud environments and data integration.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce data governance standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with data governance tools and frameworks such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and their application in data governance.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a passion for developing and mentoring talent.
