Designer / Drafter (High Voltage Infrastructure)

About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Designer / Drafter to support the management and maintenance of technical documentation for high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic engineering environment, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and consistency of as-built drawings and technical records associated with critical energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

• Update and manage high-voltage (HV) as-built drawings in accordance with applicable standards and specifications.
• Process drawing modifications following engineering projects, redline markups, and field interventions.
• Perform quality control checks on technical drawings and implement improvements where required.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and consistency of project documentation.
• Participate in post-design handover meetings and technical reviews.
• Ensure documentation activities are completed in line with project schedules and deadlines.
• Apply and maintain drafting methodologies across multidisciplinary projects.
• Manage the archiving and administrative handling of drawings and associated metadata.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Designer, Drafter, or CAD Technician.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
• Fluent in French.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organisational abilities.
• Proactive, flexible, and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within high-voltage electrical infrastructure, substations, or power transmission environments.
• Familiarity with as-built drawing processes and documentation management.
• Experience using ProjectWise.
• Technical knowledge of transmission or electrical network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Dutch would be advantageous.

Location Créalys, Gembloux, Belgium
The role requires attendance at the Créalys site and visits to high-voltage substations as required.
Eligibility Applicants must have the legal right to work and reside in Belgium, including possession of the relevant work and residence permits where applicable.
