Job Title: EHS Professional
Location: Oakville, ON
Length: 1 year and 4 months (with potential extension)
Rotation: Monday - Friday
 
Role Summary
Develops, proposes, and implements Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) processes and methods across assigned organizations. Leads the rollout of EHS programs and projects, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, supports audits and reporting obligations, and provides EHS training and guidance to employees and management.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, propose, and implement EHS processes, systems, and methodologies.
  • Plan and execute the rollout of EHS programs and projects, including tracking and monitoring milestones across the organization.
  • Analyze and monitor adherence to EHS standards within assigned organizations.
  • Prepare and deliver regular EHS performance reporting for internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes in relevant EHS laws and regulations and recommend updates to internal standards and procedures.
  • Contribute to internal and external EHS audits in support of the accountable EHS officer.
  • Prepare and submit required external EHS reports to regulatory and official authorities.
  • Maintain operational relationships and act as a point of contact with external regulatory authorities.
  • Provide EHS training and awareness sessions for employees and management.
  • Stay current with applicable regional, local, and industry-specific EHS regulations and standards.
 
Role Scope
  • Ensures organizational compliance with applicable EHS legislation, standards, and corporate policies.
  • Supports continuous improvement of EHS performance through monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to operations, projects, and leadership on EHS matters.
  • Supports risk mitigation initiatives and promotes a strong safety and compliance culture.
 
Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of experience in an EHS-related role.
  • Strong working knowledge of EHS legislation, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
  • Experience with EHS program development, audits, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze regulatory changes and translate them into practical internal requirements.
  • Strong communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills.
 
Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based with potential interaction with operations and external authorities.
  • May require periodic travel or site visits depending on organizational needs.
