We are currently recruiting an E&I Commissioning Engineer for our valued client in Perth CBD on an initial 6 month contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering commissioning and start-up activities across assigned projects operating under the IPD model. The role ensures safe, compliant, and quality execution from scope definition through to execution, start-up, and close-out, while maintaining strong governance, cost, schedule, and assurance controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute all activities in accordance with company HSE policies, standards, and procedures
  • Ensure safety leadership, welfare of personnel, and environmental protection at all times
  • Promote and enforce STOP WORK authority
  • Ensure all personnel and contractors are compliant with safety systems and values
  • Prepare and comply with a Personal Safety Commitment Statement
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure quality compliance for procurement, fabrication, temporary equipment, and hire equipment
  • Perform quality verification for FATs, temporary equipment testing, lifting equipment, and rigging
  • Manage vendor inspections and generate NCRs as required
  • Ensure certification and inspection release documentation is complete prior to mobilisation
Implementation & Execution
  • Review Work Orders, Work Packs, ITPs, and ITRs
  • Conduct Ready for Implementation (RFI), Ready for Commissioning (RFC), and Ready for Start-Up (RFSU) assurance reviews
  • Manage materials, certification, bagging and tagging, spare parts, and equipment registers
  • Ensure permits, isolations, and risk assessments are prepared and in place
  • Ensure pre‑commissioning complete, punch lists closed, and training delivered
Mobilisation & Close-Out
  • Verify workforce inductions and competencies prior to mobilisation
  • Complete project close‑out documentation and workbooks
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Engineering or technical background in commissioning and start-up environments
  • Extensive experience coordinating commissioning, pre‑commissioning, and start‑up activities
  • Strong knowledge of cost, schedule, quality, procurement, and execution workflows
  • Experience working on major industrial, oil & gas, LNG, or energy projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and contractor management capability
Desirable
  • Experience working under IPD delivery models
  • Offshore commissioning/start-up experience
  • Strong familiarity with SAP, Ecosys, and Primavera P6
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety, assurance, and execution readiness
