Work Schedule
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment in compliance with company, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will support continuous and safe operations by performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities across electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. The role also requires flexibility to perform tasks across other disciplines and provide support during emergency situations.

Work Schedule
- Week 1: Monday to Thursday – 9 hours/day (Friday off)
- Week 2: Monday to Thursday – 9 hours/day; Friday – 8 hours
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment in compliance with company, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will support continuous and safe operations by performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities across electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. The role also requires flexibility to perform tasks across other disciplines and provide support during emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of compressor station equipment and other pipeline system facilities
- Conduct routine maintenance on gas turbine packages, gas compressors, and auxiliary equipment
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain:
- Shutdown and safety devices
- Fire and gas detection systems
- Auxiliary and HVAC systems
- Relief and over-pressure protection devices
- Control valves
- PLC and DCS control systems
- Install and configure control system software
- Respond to and complete emergency repairs as required to support operations and customer needs
- Ensure facilities, equipment, and personnel comply with company Community, Safety, and Environment policies and accepted risk standards
- Lead or support low to medium complexity projects, including coordinating and monitoring contractors or third-party work
- Complete all administrative and documentation requirements associated with the role
- Maintain required operational task qualifications
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to other team members
- High School Diploma
- Completion of at least the second year of a trades program or a minimum of two years of technical training
- Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
- Journeyman Electrician and/or Journeyman Instrumentation certification
- 5+ years of related industry experience
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP
- Previous experience working with high‑pressure natural gas systems
- Familiarity with current and emerging technologies in natural gas compression and control systems
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training (estimated up to 15% of work schedule, including occasional overnight stays)
- Participation in an on‑call rotation and availability to provide emergency support as required
