Job Title: Electrical Substation Cost Estimator
Location: Raleigh, NC OR remote with some travel

Job Description:

Review and interpret engineering plans with accuracy.

Perform and document detailed quantity takeoffs for civil works, building construction, high and low voltage electrical and mechanical installation.

Develop unit costs using industry standards for labor, equipment, and materials.

Estimate construction costs from engineering drawings and specs.

Provide budget estimates for electrical substations.

Use estimates to support construction scheduling.

Evaluate subcontractor pricing and change requests.

Maintain and contribute to the company's construction cost database.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

5+ years of experience in construction cost estimating, preferably in electrical substations.

Education related with quantity surveying, construction management, or related field preferred. Or a combination of education and experience.

Proficiency with estimating software such as Prost or ProEst.

Strong understanding of industry labor, equipment, and material cost standards.

Experience assessing subcontractor bids and change orders.

Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States.
