Job Description: Engineering Lead – Electrical (Power Supply)
Job Purpose
The Engineering Lead – Electrical (Power Supply) is responsible for overseeing electrical engineering activities across project phases, ensuring all technical deliverables meet project specifications, standards, and quality expectations.
The role provides technical leadership to EPC contractors, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring effective execution of design, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities. It also supports start-up and early operations, ensuring system performance meets project objectives.

    • Construction, Quality, SHEQ, and Engineering teams
External Interfaces
  • EPC Contractors, Vendors, Subcontractors, Consultants
  • Regulatory and utility stakeholders (as required)
  • Occasional engagement with external stakeholders and partners
Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all electrical engineering activities comply with project policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
  2. Lead electrical design and planning activities, ensuring alignment with local regulations, industry standards, and approved specifications.
  3. Review and resolve electrical engineering issues, escalating critical matters when required.
  4. Evaluate electrical simulations and system performance, covering:
    • Power generation and distribution systems
    • High-voltage switchgear
    • Power management systems
    • Large motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
    • Integrated control systems
  5. Review technical aspects of electrical equipment procurement to ensure compatibility and integration into project systems.
  6. Monitor project schedules, identify risks or delays, and recommend corrective or recovery actions.
  7. Develop and maintain electrical design philosophies, specifications, and procedures.
  8. Track contractor performance and ensure timely delivery of electrical engineering milestones.
  9. Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  10. Coordinate interfaces with external systems, utilities, and third-party stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Address complex technical and commercial challenges impacting project execution.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering roles
  • At least 4 years in Oil & Gas or similar industry
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Experience in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects preferred
  • Prior LNG or major capital project experience is an advantage
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong expertise in:
    • HV/MV/LV electrical systems
    • Power generation and distribution
    • Transformers and switchgear
    • Power management systems and load sharing
    • Large motors (40MW+) and VFD systems
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and safety requirements
  • Familiarity with design, construction, and operational aspects of industrial facilities
