Hiring: Engineering Lead (Structural) – Offshore Projects
Location: Doha, Qatar
Contract Type: Long-Term Contract
Work Schedule
100% Onshore
Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF
6 Days per Week
8–10 Hours per Day
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead (Structural) to lead all structural engineering activities for major offshore projects, including Jackets, Sensor Tower Platforms (STPs), and other offshore developments from Conceptual Design, FEED, EPCI, AFD/AFC stages through final As-Built documentation.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee contractors and consultants, ensure compliance with international standards, and support project execution through commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Lead and review all structural engineering deliverables including design basis, specifications, structural analyses, transportation, loadout, installation, fatigue, seismic, and in-place assessments.
🔹 Provide technical leadership and SME-level expertise for offshore structural engineering activities.
🔹 Review contractor and consultant designs, ensuring compliance with project requirements and operational philosophies.
🔹 Ensure adherence to company engineering standards, design practices, and industry codes.
🔹 Manage structural engineering interfaces with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
🔹 Review and approve material requisitions, purchase orders, and engineering deliverables.
🔹 Support planning, scheduling, risk management, commissioning, installation, and handover activities.
🔹 Participate in offshore installation campaigns and inspections when required.
Requirements
Qualifications
✔ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Experience
✔ Minimum 8 years of engineering experience
✔ At least 4 years within the Oil & Gas Industry
✔ Minimum 1 year in a supervisory, lead, or contractor oversight role
✔ Proven experience as a Structural Lead on Major Offshore Capital Projects
✔ Strong exposure to FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPCI, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up phases
✔ Experience working with Oil & Gas Operators, EPC Contractors, Engineering Consultants, and Vendors
✔ Experience managing contractor and vendor performance throughout project execution
✔ Knowledge of risk management, change management, interface management, and project controls
✔ Experience with offshore platforms, jackets, and pipeline projects
✔ Experience in sour gas and LNG environments is highly preferred
Technical Skills
✔ Strong knowledge of international engineering codes and standards
✔ SME-level competency in Structural Engineering
✔ Strong project execution and stakeholder management skills
✔ Excellent English communication skills
✔ Proficient with MS Office and engineering software applications
Certifications
✔ T-BOSIET (Preferred/Required)
✔ H₂S Certification (Preferred/Required)
