Position: Field Engineering Manager – LNG Project
Location: Sohar, Oman
Start Date: July 2026
Status: 12 Months Renewable Contract
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all Field Engineering activities for the LNG Plant, LNG Tank, Sohar Port and associated project packages.
  • Ensure engineering design complies with Contract requirements, Basis of Design, Project Specifications, Codes & Standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Act as the single technical focal point for all site engineering matters, ensuring design consistency across disciplines and packages.
  • Manage, coordinate and develop a multi‑disciplinary field engineering team (Piping/Mechanical, Process, Electrical, ICSS & Telecom, Civil/Structural, etc.).
  • Review and respond to technical queries, deviation requests, and NCRs from site and vendors in a timely manner to avoid construction delays.
  • Provide technical arbitration between disciplines and packages where conflicts or inconsistencies arise.
  • Coordinate closely with EPC contractors, vendors, Company representatives and shareholders to achieve fit‑for‑purpose design solutions.
  • Oversee preparation, validation and handover of As‑Built documentation and Red Line mark‑ups by contractors.
  • Support ICSS system development in coordination with vendors, contractors and package teams.
  • Provide technical support to construction, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up teams.
  • Participate in project management meetings, weekly project reviews and shareholder meetings as required.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project schedule, quality and budget objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal departments including HSE, Quality, Project Control, Interface Management and Contract Management.
  • Promote and demonstrate exemplary HSE leadership and ensure HSE requirements are fully implemented within scope of responsibility.
  • Prepare close‑out reports and capture lessons learned at project completion.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in project engineering, preferably on LNG, Oil & Gas or major EPC projects.
  • Proven experience in site engineering, construction, installation, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, engineering standards, construction practices and HSE requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi‑disciplinary engineering teams on large‑scale projects.
  • Sound understanding of process engineering, piping, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical and control systems.
  • Strong project management skills (cost, schedule and interface management).
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory.
  • High level of autonomy, leadership, and ability to represent the Company in technical and contractual discussions.
  • Experience working in multicultural, international project environment
