Seeking a motivated and versatile Financial Analyst to support hydrocarbon accounting and settlement activities within its Finance organization.
This role is critical to ensure accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting of crude oil and refined product transactions. The successful candidate will contribute to the integrity of financial results while supporting alignment across commercial, operational, and accounting functions.
As part of a lean, collaborative, and highly integrated Finance team, this individual will be expected to work flexibly across multiple accounting and finance disciplines. Hydrocarbon Accounting & Settlements
- Process, validate, and reconcile financial transactions related to hydrocarbon operations, including crude and refined product settlements
- Review invoices, reconcile payments, and resolve discrepancies with counterparties and third-party stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, accounting standards, and internal control requirements
- Support the accurate and timely completion of settlements, reporting, and related financial activities
- Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and IFRS
- Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Partner with trading, operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure alignment between contracts, transactions, and financial reporting
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and clarify financial impacts
- Support internal and external audit activities through strong coordination, documentation, and compliance practices
- Investigate financial discrepancies and provide well-supported recommendations for resolution
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to settlements, reconciliations, and accounting workflows
- Contribute to strengthening internal controls and minimizing financial and operational risk
- Support additional Finance initiatives, reporting activities, analyses, and special projects as business needs evolve
- Demonstrate flexibility by contributing across Controllers, AP/AR, and other Finance functions when required
- Promote a collaborative “One Finance” culture focused on shared team success and operational excellence
Experience
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within the oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
- Hands-on experience with SAP required; SAP S/4HANA experience preferred
- Experience with transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Working knowledge of:
- Hydrocarbon settlement processes and transaction flows
- Accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance requirements
- Reconciliation procedures and financial data analysis
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to changing priorities
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships
- Problem Solving: Investigates non-routine items and delivers practical well-supported solutions
