Hydrogeologist – FIFO Perth
5‑Month Contract | 8:6 Roster | Immediate Start


We are seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist to join a site‑based team within the resources sector on a 5‑month contract. This role is offered FIFO from Perth on an 8:6 roster and requires an immediate start.

Reporting to the Senior Hydrogeologist, you will support operational and project‑related hydrogeological activities, including groundwater investigations, drilling programs, dewatering support, and technical reporting.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Technical supervision of drilling programs, including production, monitoring, and injection bore design
  • Supervision of drilling and pump test contractors on site, including drill pad management
  • Hydrogeological and geological logging of drill samples
  • Undertaking hydrogeological assessments, including data interpretation, conceptualisation, and reporting
  • Fieldwork activities such as groundwater sampling, well installation, site reconnaissance, water level monitoring, and bore census
  • Pump test analysis and groundwater data management
  • Development and support of groundwater and numerical models
  • Preparation of internal and regulatory reports
  • Assisting with proposals, contract documentation, and technical specifications
  • Liaison with mine planning, dewatering teams, contractors, consultants, and other site stakeholders to support operational outcomes
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Strong commitment to safety and onsite compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent tertiary qualification) in Hydrogeology, Geology, Engineering, or a related science
  • Postgraduate qualification (MSc) in Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering, or similar field highly regarded
  • Relevant applied experience in hydrogeology, including groundwater exploration, mine dewatering, or water resource development in Western Australia
  • Experience supervising drilling, pump testing, and other field contractors
  • Exposure to hydrogeological software such as ArcGIS, Aqtesolv, LogPlot, or similar
  • Strong data management, interpretation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to present hydrogeological information for engineering and operational purposes
