Position Summary
The Instrument & Controls (I&C) Technician is responsible for executing commissioning, turnover, and startup activities in support of LNG facility operations. This role ensures that instrumentation, analyzers, and control systems are properly installed, tested, calibrated, and fully functional to support a safe and reliable plant startup.
The technician is expected to take full ownership of system completion, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure operational readiness.

Position Summary
The Instrument & Controls (I&C) Technician is responsible for executing commissioning, turnover, and startup activities in support of LNG facility operations. This role ensures that instrumentation, analyzers, and control systems are properly installed, tested, calibrated, and fully functional to support a safe and reliable plant startup.
The technician is expected to take full ownership of system completion, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute loop checks, calibration, and functional testing of instrumentation and control systems, including GE Mark VI turbine controls
- Verify systems are installed and tested in accordance with project specifications, procedures, and company standards
- Drive system completion and turnover by validating documentation, closing punch items, and ensuring readiness for Operations acceptance
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve I&C system issues impacting commissioning and startup
- Ensure proper preservation, protection, and storage of instruments and analyzers throughout construction and commissioning phases
- Witness regulatory and operational testing; ensure records meet plant and environmental compliance requirements
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Construction teams to align on system readiness and startup priorities
- Support turbine and process unit startup, including integration of Mark VI control systems with plant DCS and field instrumentation
- Track and verify material requests and critical spare parts for commissioning and startup activities
- Provide support during critical milestones, including extended hours or night shifts as required
- 5+ years of Instrumentation & Controls experience in:
- LNG
- Gas processing
- Cryogenic facilities
- Direct hands-on commissioning and startup experience
- Proven experience with:
- Instrument calibration, loop checks, and functional testing
- GE Mark VI control systems
- Online analyzers (gas chromatographs, moisture, gas quality analyzers)
- Process measurements (pressure, temperature, flow, level)
- Turnover and system completion processes
- Strong knowledge of LNG process systems and plant equipment
- Ability to read and interpret:
- P&IDs
- Loop drawings
- Control narratives
- Ownership mindset with focus on safe, reliable startup execution
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in live plant environments
- Commitment to safety, procedural compliance, and quality workmanship
- Ability to perform effectively in dynamic startup conditions
- Excellent coordination and communication across Operations, Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning teams
