QA Inspector – Permian TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Promote safety within area of specialty
- Monitor contractor activities to assure construction and fabrication is conducted in accordance with relevant specifications.
- Provide expert advice to Construction/Maintenance Supervisors and Foreman in inspection and testing for disciplines such as welding, coating, civil works, piping, pressure vessel and tank fabrication, equipment installations and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
- Assist contractors and suppliers with development and improvements to quality control and inspection activities including Inspection and Test Plans.
- Review and evaluate Contractor and Supplier quality documents for accuracy and adequacy.
- Participate in Mechanical Completion walkdowns, PSSR walkdowns, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), final inspection release activities, review of supplier Quality Control documents and support closure of punch list items
- Keep Quality supervision and functional supervision informed of significant quality issues and updated with status of quality issues.
- Develop and deliver inspection reports, quality incident reports and Nonconformance reports as required by Quality Supervision.
- Assure that contractor quality documents, data and records are maintained and delivered as required.
- Provide early warning of potential quality problems and promote solutions to mitigate and prevent re-occurrence.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Quality and/or Inspection with major oil and gas projects is required.
- Ability to deal with high stress situations with calm and measured professionalism is required.
- Current or previous certification as AWS Certified Welding Inspector is required.
- Willing and able to travel to the field and/or shop locations to perform monitoring and quality assurance tasks as required by Quality Supervision.
- Current or previous certification (ACCP/NACE) coating inspector certification is preferred.
- Current or previous certification(s) in Non-Destructive testing techniques (RT, UT, PT, MT) is preferred.
