Rate: $55/hr
Schedule: 4x10s (Monday–Thursday), days; some weekends, holidays, and overtime as required

POSITION OVERVIEW
Seeking a Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician to support safe, compliant, and reliable refinery operations. This position reports to the Electrical Foreman and plays a critical role in maintaining and troubleshooting refinery electrical systems in support of the site’s operational and strategic business goals.
The Electrician will work in an active industrial/refinery environment and must adhere to strict safety, regulatory, and operational standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, test, and commission electrical systems including:
    • Motor circuits
    • Low and medium voltage switchgear and motor control centers (MCCs)
    • Battery systems and UPS systems
    • Motor‑operated valves
    • Microprocessor‑based protective relays
    • Low and medium voltage transformers
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
    • Electric heat tracing control systems
    • Electrical raceways and industrial lighting
    • Complex control and power systems
  • Perform work in accordance with industry, and manufacturer standards
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities as part of the refinery’s Mechanical Integrity Program
  • Read and interpret electrical one‑line diagrams, schematics, and drawings
  • Operate and utilize electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Safely perform lockout/tagout (LOTO), work permitting, and other industrial safety processes
  • Adhere to company’s electrical safe work practices
  • Rack electrical circuit breakers in and out safely
  • Maintain required safety, compliance, and development training
  • Properly select and don required electrical PPE
  • Support Turnarounds (TARs) as required
  • Foster a strong safety‑first culture, teamwork, and effective communication
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minnesota Journeyman or Master Electrician License (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of trade or relevant industrial electrical experience
  • Ability and willingness to learn refinery‑specific systems, procedures, and standards
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card (required upon hire)
  • Familiarity with refinery equipment codes and standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to physically perform all job duties, including:
    • Working indoors and outdoors
    • Working at heights and in confined spaces
    • Wearing required PPE, including respiratory protection as needed
  • Ability to pass:
    • Pre‑employment written exam
    • Hands‑on skills test
    • Physical examination
