We are looking for a Lead Engineer Controls to join our Power & Controls Engineering department in Tranby. The offices are centrally located 10 minutes from Drammen and 30 minutes from Oslo.
In this role, you will hold technical authority for control systems within defense projects, ensuring robust, secure, and compliant instrumented power and control solutions.

We are looking for a Lead Engineer Controls to join our Power & Controls Engineering department in Tranby. The offices are centrally located 10 minutes from Drammen and 30 minutes from Oslo.
In this role, you will hold technical authority for control systems within defense projects, ensuring robust, secure, and compliant instrumented power and control solutions.
What will you be doing?
- Lead and manage engineering activities in accordance with Aker Solutions’ Policy for Engineering
- Define, maintain and safeguard system architecture for control system hardware, software, network, and interfaces
- Translate system and operational requirements into clear and compliant control system and product requirements
- Oversee and contribute to the development, configuration and integration of control systems
- Lead control system design reviews, certification activities, and technical discussions with customers and external stakeholders
- Define, maintain and lead control system testing and validation strategies
- Ensure components are compliant with system requirements, military standards, laws and legislations
- Manage technical risks, interfaces, and configuration changes related to control systems
- Lead change management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as technical authority and mentor for control engineers within the project
We think you should have:
- Higher education within engineering, science, or a related discipline
- Experience leading control system scope in multidisciplinary projects
- Solid understanding of control systems, instrumentation and power distribution
- Experienced with development and review of electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and interface documentation using ECAD tools relevant for control system design
- Experience with design for EMC compliance, validation, and problem resolution
- Solid understanding of requirements management and traceability
- Good understanding of constraints related to components for military applications or similar harsh environments
- Structured and quality-focused working style, with strong technical judgement and decision-making capability
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage across disciplines
- Good understanding of structured quality management systems
- Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
- Experience from defense or a serial production environment is an advantage
- The role may involve projects where security clearance is required
