Job Title: Learning and Onboarding Advisor
Location: Calgary, AB (must be able to travel to Kitimat, BC as required)
Work Schedule / Shift:  Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week
Start Date: May 5, 2026
End Date: June 30, 2028

Job Summary:
The Learning and Onboarding Advisor is responsible for managing the end-to-end onboarding process for all new joiners and internal transfers within the company. This role serves as the subject matter expert on onboarding and offboarding, taking the lead in defining best practices and principles. Responsibilities include coordinating content development for onboarding welcome packs and orientation sessions, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure a seamless onboarding/offboarding process and ensuring the effective identification, planning, integration, design, coordination, and implementation of onboarding and offboarding processes.

In addition, this role will maintain a learning portfolio, as assigned by the Learning and Development Manager including but not limited to rollout of programs across the organization and monitoring completion records within the learning management system. Responsibilities include ongoing collaboration with the Phase 2, Asset Training Team and cross-functional, multi-disciplinary stakeholders, utilizing learning principles to manage learning portfolios based on business needs, coordinating and managing training course requests, payments, logistics, and classroom support (both virtual and in-person across all locations tracking centralized budget expenses and managing training request intakes.

  • Serve as the primary focal point for Phase 2 learning, development, and onboarding activities.
  • Onboard multiple types of employees and contractors across several geographical locations which will involve travel between BC and Alberta.
  • Organize and deliver onboarding programs, Orientation and New Joiner Welcome events.
  • Support the management of a centralized budget and expenses; manage training request intakes, register learners into activities, process, and track credit card expenses, etc.  
  • Manage post learning activities; collect and analyze course evaluations, escalate issues if required, communicate with stakeholders, facilitate change.
  • Monitor onboarding program and learning portfolio effectiveness and ensure alignment with organizational goals; drive continuous improvements.
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to new employees, helping them navigate their new roles and integrate into the company culture.
  • Run and maintain assigned learning advisor portfolio; including responsibilities to create and maintain job competency profiles for Phase 2 roles.
  • Develop and maintain a Project Execute learning portfolio

Requirements:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Professional Experience: 5–8 years in learning, onboarding, or HR roles.
  • Influencing Skills: Proven ability to inspire and guide others to achieve results.
  • Education in Adult Learning and Instructional Design
  • Facilitation Expertise: Skilled in leading orientation sessions and delivering clear, confident, and engaging new hire sessions with strong business acumen.
  • Collaboration: Adept at building relationships and working across functions and organizational levels.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrates flexibility to balance priorities and meet evolving business needs.
  • Empathy and Personability: Approachable and understanding in interactions.
