The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all logistics activities associated with multiple transmission cable installation projects, including:
- Transportation of cable drums (up to 80 tonnes) from vessel to quayside, quayside to installation sites, and intermediate storage locations.
- Plant and equipment movements, including abnormal and special loads.
- Project worksites including:
- Peterhead (17 km installation)
- Caithness (25 km installation)
- Inverness – Dundonnell (90 km installation)
The Logistics Manager will work closely with the wider Site Installation Management Team and be accountable for:
- Developing and maintaining Logistics Management Plans, Transportation Management Plans, Materials Management Plans, Security Plans, and Mobilisation/Demobilisation Plans.
- Managing logistics with subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Developing and maintaining integrated logistics schedules, look-ahead plans, milestone plans, and transport forecasts.
- Coordinating all logistics operations including transportation, lifting activities, warehousing, laydown areas, and material handling.
- Managing personnel movement, plant, equipment, transportation resources, and project logistics facilities.
- Managing storage, preservation requirements, and strategic spare parts.
- Coordinating road, marine, heavy haulage, and abnormal load transportation activities.
- Developing port, quayside, and site logistics arrangements including traffic management and access planning.
- Ensuring compliance with HSE, security, regulatory, and project-specific logistics requirements.
- Leading logistics assurance activities including inspections, equipment certification, RAMS reviews, third-party verification, and transport compliance.
- Producing and reviewing logistics reports and progress updates.
- Planning and managing abnormal and special load movements, including:
- Route surveys and route assessments
- Permit applications
- Stakeholder engagement
- Police Scotland notifications
- Bridge assessments
- Escort requirements
- Coordination with Local Authorities and Transport Scotland
- Acting as the primary logistics focal point between project teams, contractors, suppliers, transport providers, ports, clients, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in:
- Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Transport Management
- Construction Management
- Equivalent practical experience as set out below.
- SMSTS preferred.
- Relevant CSCS card preferred.
Candidates should have demonstrable experience in major infrastructure, transmission, energy, offshore wind, oil & gas, or similar sectors and possess experience in:
- STGO (Special Types General Order) and abnormal load planning.
- Heavy haulage route assessments.
- Escort planning and abnormal load coordination.
- Permit and stakeholder management with:
- Transport Scotland
- Local Authorities
- Police Scotland
- Logistics management for large construction or installation projects.
- Lifting planning and transport engineering awareness.
- Marine and quayside logistics would be advantageous.
- Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to review and interpret drawings in PDF and DWG formats.
- Experience using digital reporting, scheduling, and logistics management systems.
