This position bridges construction, commissioning, and operations, ensuring a safe and seamless transition from mechanical completion to start-up.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary commissioning team, coordinating closely with EPCm partners, vendors, construction contractors, and the client’s operations group.

Key ResponsibilitiesLoop Check Execution & Coordination
  • Lead and supervise daily loop-checking activities for instrumentation and control systems across the cracker unit.

  • Validate that all loops—from field devices to DCS/PLC—are correctly installed, calibrated, and functionally tested.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to resolve punch items, incomplete installations, or technical discrepancies.
Commissioning Management
  • Support the development and implementation of commissioning procedures, test packs, and loop-check methodologies.
  • Ensure all loop checks are executed in line with project commissioning plans, EPCm standards, and client requirements.

  • Verify that documentation meets project QA/QC standards and regulatory expectations.
Interface & Communication
  • Act as the primary interface between commissioning, construction, EPCm engineering, and operations for loop-related issues.
  • Report daily progress, constraints, and resource needs to the Commissioning Manager.
  • Support handover documentation preparation for operations, including loop test records and as-built updates.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Technical degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in loop checking and commissioning on large petrochemical, refinery, or gas processing projects.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation, control systems, DCS/PLC architecture, and fieldbus technologies.
  • Familiarity with EPCm project environments and multi-stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience with commissioning management software and digital loop folders.
  • Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a high-paced, safety-critical environment.

Preferred Attributes
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering documentation and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
