We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Planner to support the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities. This role is responsible for ensuring maintenance work is prepared, coordinated, and executed efficiently to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Planner to support the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities. This role is responsible for ensuring maintenance work is prepared, coordinated, and executed efficiently to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules
- Review, prioritize, and prepare work orders based on urgency and operational requirements
- Build complete work packages including labor, materials, tools, services, and cost estimates
- Ensure all required resources are available prior to execution
- Coordinate maintenance activities across operations, engineering, and contractor teams
- Support preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in planning for shutdowns, turnarounds, and outage events
- Track maintenance progress and adjust schedules as required
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history
- Support troubleshooting efforts and corrective maintenance planning
- Participate in planning meetings and escalate issues where required
- Ensure adherence to the work order lifecycle process
- Deliver accurate and complete planning documentation
- Support achievement of KPIs such as backlog management, planning accuracy, and schedule readiness
- Contribute to maintenance budget adherence through effective planning and cost control
- Ensure compliance with site procedures, regulatory requirements, and best practices
- Coordinate planning activities across multiple functional teams
Must-Have:
- Journeyman trade certification
- 8–10+ years of industrial experience at the journeyman level
- Strong experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Prometheus)
- Proven planning, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Experience with shutdown, turnaround, and outage planning
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., ABSA)
- Experience supporting capital projects or acting as an operations liaison
- Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) processes
- Maintenance planning and scheduling expertise
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective collaboration and communication across departments
- High attention to detail in work package development
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Follow all site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Identify hazards and support a safe working environment
- Ensure all work plans incorporate appropriate safety controls (e.g., LOTO)
- Support environmental and operational compliance standards
- Adhere to drug and alcohol policies for safety-sensitive roles
