Position Summary
Responsible for planning and coordinating all tasks related to maintenance work orders to support efficient execution by maintenance teams. Works with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Project groups to ensure alignment, readiness, and effective scheduling of maintenance activities. Ensures all planning activities meet site standards, procedures, and operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan all maintenance activities associated with assigned trade-based work
  • Receive and review work requests, prioritize tasks, and select work for execution
  • Develop detailed work plans including materials, tools, labour, services, and cost estimates
  • Prepare complete work packages with sequencing and documentation
  • Confirm availability of materials, tools, and services prior to execution
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and job plan reviews
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ensure sufficient planned work to support short-term scheduling
  • Support planning for shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages
  • Participate in maintenance planning meetings
  • Provide planning support for corrective and project-related work
  • Maintain and improve future task lists
  • Escalate issues requiring higher-level input
Qualifications Must-Have:
  • Journeyman Trade Certification
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial experience at the journeyman level
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to high safety standards
  • Experience using a CMMS (SAP and/or Prometheus preferred)
Assets:
  • Experience supporting turnaround, shutdown, and outage planning
  • Familiarity with ABSA regulatory requirements
  • Experience acting as an operations liaison on projects
  • Experience with greenfield/brownfield projects and Management of Change (MOC)

Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in maintenance planning or related role
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning principles
  • Proficiency in CMMS/ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
