Our client, the Operator of an oilfield development in Northern Iraq, is currently seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join their growing Maintenance team.
This is not purely a role planning and executing maintenance scopes - it is a broad role which also requires experience in managing small brownfield projects and developing the CMMS.
Overview
This role provides specialist maintenance execution expertise to rehabilitate and redevelop the company oil fields. Facilities include wells, produced oil & gas treating facilities, water treatment facilities, water injection, gas compression, sour crude oil & gas sweetening facilities, LPG fractionation & storage.

Overview
This role provides specialist maintenance execution expertise to rehabilitate and redevelop the company oil fields. Facilities include wells, produced oil & gas treating facilities, water treatment facilities, water injection, gas compression, sour crude oil & gas sweetening facilities, LPG fractionation & storage.
The Maintenance Specialist will:
- Support multi discipline team to deliver plant rehabilitation.
- Lead Rehabilitation projects across several facilities
- Support the population of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and development of planned maintenance activities
- Support Work Management execution through identification, and efficient planning, scheduling & execution of planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Coach and mentor local workforce.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage Rehabilitation scopes delivery
- Scope, plan and execute rehabilitation scopes
- Develop, monitor and report progress of rehabilitation scope
- Oversight of contractors for managed activities
- Support operations team on returning plant to safe operation and input to and management of activities and processes for TAR and Train outages.
- Recommend execution optimization opportunities and input and monitoring of maintenance activity schedules. Seek nesting opportunities and ensure no activities at risk will be carried into the 2-week schedule without approval. Input to 8Q plan and annual maintenance budgets.
- Maintain required updates / progress against P6 schedules and department specific reports.
- Identify change management (MOC) issues are identified and Engineering Queries (EQs) are raised in a timely manner to resolve and meet business objectives.
- Promotes the importance of not having overdue maintenance (SCE and anomaly management) to reduce risk to personnel/ production /environment and plant.
- Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in Brownfield projects and rehabilitation scopes for aging onshore facilities
- Extensive experience in maintenance execution activities (minimum 10 years).
- Previous Experience in Project management roles
- Experience in working in oil and gas environments being familiar with typical plant and equipment.
- Experience working in and with diverse cultures. Previous work experience in the Middle East is preferred
- Excellent understanding of the typical maintenance planning processes.
- Excellent communication skills, written, presentation, and speaking.
- Proven ability to foster collaboration across operating and maintenance teams.
- Personal accountability for performance management, can solve problems and has a delivery mindset.
