We’re Hiring: Marine Lead (COMP) – Offshore | Qatar
I’m currently looking for an experienced Marine Lead (COMP) to support a major Oil & Gas / LNG offshore.
Location: Offshore – Qatar
Contract Duration: 3 Years
Work Schedule:
• 12 hours/day
• 7 days/week
• Rotation: 28 days ON / 28 days OFF
Role Overview
The Marine Lead will act as the Project Marine Coordinator during the Marine Execution phase. This role is pivotal in ensuring marine safety, quality assurance, compliance, and operational excellence across all marine units engaged on the project.
You’ll be the Marine Subject Matter Expert (SME)—guiding vessel selection, marine assurance, inspections, stakeholder coordination, and compliance with company’s Marine Operations Procedures (MOP) and international maritime standards.
Key Responsibilities
Marine Unit/Vessel selection, Technical Bid Evaluations & inspections
Marine Assurance, MUA, OVID, and compliance stewardship
Interface management with Company’s OPCO Marine & Project Teams
Oversight of mobilization, execution, and de-mobilization phases
Breakdown, defect, accident & incident management
Leading safety initiatives, KPIs, inspections & audits
Ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, class & flag requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Marine, Nautical, Engineering, or related discipline
STCW II/2 or STCW III/2 Certification
Minimum 8 years seagoing experience, including 1 year as Master or Chief Engineer
Proven experience with offshore marine units in Oil & Gas / LNG projects
Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, codes, and standards
Exposure to offshore construction vessels, heavy lift barges, DSVs, jack-ups, etc.
Middle East experience preferred
Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) / OVID accreditation – advantage
