About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Master Data Specialist to support a major data and analytics uplift across asset‑intensive operations. This contract role will play a critical part in improving data quality, governance, and reliability outcomes, with a strong focus on Snowflake and Snowflake AI capabilities.
You will work closely with reliability, asset management, operations, and analytics teams to ensure master data foundations support advanced analytics, AI‑driven insights, and operational decision‑making across the business.

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Master Data Specialist to support a major data and analytics uplift across asset‑intensive operations. This contract role will play a critical part in improving data quality, governance, and reliability outcomes, with a strong focus on Snowflake and Snowflake AI capabilities.
You will work closely with reliability, asset management, operations, and analytics teams to ensure master data foundations support advanced analytics, AI‑driven insights, and operational decision‑making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage master data domains including asset, maintenance, equipment, materials, and finance data within an asset‑heavy mining environment.
- Drive data quality, governance, and standardisation, ensuring master data is accurate, complete, and fit for advanced analytics and AI use cases.
- Work hands‑on with Snowflake, including Snowflake AI features, to support data modelling, optimisation, and intelligent data pipelines.
- Partner with Reliability and Asset Management teams to align master data structures with maintenance strategies, performance reporting, and lifecycle management.
- Support data migration, cleansing, and harmonisation initiatives from legacy systems into Snowflake.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and BI teams to enable end‑to‑end analytics solutions.
- Apply strong change management and data stewardship practices to embed sustainable data standards across the organisation.
- Proven experience as a Master Data Specialist / Master Data Analyst / Data Steward within mining, resources, or other asset‑intensive industries.
- Strong understanding of asset, maintenance, reliability, and operational data (e.g. equipment hierarchies, work management, materials).
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake, with Snowflake AI exposure highly desirable.
- Solid SQL capability and experience supporting analytics and reporting platforms (e.g. Power BI).
- Demonstrated experience in data governance, data quality frameworks, and master data lifecycle management.
- Ability to work effectively across technical and operational stakeholders, translating business needs into robust data solutions.
- Experience with SAP (PM/MM) or similar ERP systems is highly advantageous.
