The Material Handler is responsible for executing day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of goods. This role encompasses shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will maintain high standards of safety compliance, data integrity, and cross-functional team collaboration to support overall plant and distribution goals.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Fulfillment
• Execute freight activities: Load and unload inbound/outbound freight while safely staging and moving palletized materials.
• Process outbound orders: stage, label, and document orders according to internal customer requirements.
• Coordinate freight logistics: Schedule freight carriers and verify that all goods and paperwork accurately match customer orders.
• Kitting & assembly: Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) per internal reservation requirements, pull parts, and package kit accordingly.
Receiving & Inventory Control
• Manage inbound freight: Receive expedited shipments, MRO, and commodity deliveries while verifying accuracy of the accompanying documentation.
• Maintain data integrity: Input receipt data into computerized systems and notify internal/external recipients following established procedures.
• Inventory auditing: Conduct cycle counts, audit stock locations, and update inventory systems to ensure maximum stock accuracy.
• Monitor stock levels: Track inventory levels against upcoming order demands to proactively resolve allocation issues or material shortages.
Safety, Quality, & Maintenance
• Enforce safety standards: Maintain strict compliance with OSHA regulations and WES Safety procedures, including but not limited to; eye safety, hearing conservation, machine/equipment safety, SDS procedures, and PPE usage.
• Facility upkeep: Perform routine housekeeping duties to ensure a clean, organized, and hazardous-free work environment.
Basic Qualifications
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; basic computer data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Oil and Gas industry parts knowledge.
• Equipment Experience: Minimum of 1 year of forklift or other equipment operation experience.
• Systems: Prior knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
Position Criteria
• Self-Direction: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Collaboration: Demonstrated track record of positive, team-oriented workplace interactions.
• Communication: Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical instructions and distribution documents.
• Flexibility: Willingness and availability to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts along with scheduled on-call responsibilities as operationally required.
Physical Requirements
• Stamina: Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, climb steps, and use ladders on hard surfaces for 8 to 12 hours per day.
• Strength: Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
