Mechanical Engineer (Piping / Stress Analysis) Location: New Orleans, LA
Duration: Contract-to-hire (12 months, with potential for permanent conversion)
Overview Experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in piping design and stress analysis to support industrial and petrochemical facility projects. This role involves leading mechanical design efforts, performing piping stress analysis, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects.

Overview Experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in piping design and stress analysis to support industrial and petrochemical facility projects. This role involves leading mechanical design efforts, performing piping stress analysis, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical piping systems for industrial facilities
- Perform and oversee piping stress analysis, particularly related to rotating equipment (e.g., compressors, pumps)
- Develop detailed mechanical design packages for oil & gas and petrochemical projects
- Support equipment specification, selection, and procurement activities
- Provide construction and field support as needed
- Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and project teams to ensure design quality and compliance
- Review and validate engineering calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong experience in piping design and stress analysis within industrial environments
- Hands-on proficiency with Caesar II (required)
- Experience working on industrial, petrochemical, or oil & gas facilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects or design efforts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with compressor stations or production facilities
- Familiarity with additional tools such as:
- Navisworks
- Pipe Flow
- Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook
