Position Summary
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment within the grinding plant. This role requires a strong technical background in industrial electrical systems, the ability to interpret schematics and electrical codes, and a clear understanding of mill and plant operations. The Electrician works closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.

The Electrician works closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Installation
- Maintain, inspect, repair, and replace plant electrical equipment, motors, controls, and fixtures.
- Install new electrical equipment and calibrate electrical and electronic controls supporting mill operations.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize operational downtime.
- Inspect newly delivered electrical equipment and parts to ensure quality and compliance.
- Report directly to the Mill Shift Boss and coordinate electrical maintenance activities based on operational needs.
- Direct outside contractors, service providers, and Mill Helpers as required.
- Recommend services, replacement parts, and new equipment acquisitions to the Mill Supervisor and Plant Manager.
- Communicate effectively with management and plant personnel to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
- Establish and maintain records of electrical installations, maintenance, repairs, grounding tests, and inspections.
- Use maintenance checklists, electrical testing instruments, and hand and power tools.
- Ensure proper calibration of instruments, organization of tools, and cleanliness of work areas.
- Apply best‑practice maintenance methods and comply with ISO, API, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical installation and maintenance in a plant, mill, or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of electro‑magnetic theory, electrical schematics, and applicable electrical codes.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical motors, controls, and powered equipment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams.
Phase‑In Requirements
- Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent experience as a plant electrician, electrical technician, electrician helper, or related trade.
- Experience working in mill, mining, or industrial plant environments.
- Familiarity with ISO, API, TQM, and quality standards.

- Comply with all regulatory requirements, company procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Perform work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Continually inspect work areas for unsafe or substandard conditions and take corrective or interim action.
- Report all injuries, near misses, property damage, and hazardous conditions to supervision immediately.
- Participate in required safety training, drills, and HSE development initiatives.
Maintenance & Training Requirements
- Ongoing ISO/API training.
- Continued participation in safety and job hazard training programs.
