Nitrogen/Helium Test Lead
Contract period: 02/08/2026 - 01/07/2027
Location: Stord, Offshore prior to and during commissioning activities.
Night shift rotation will also be a requirement during the test period as a minimum.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
The N2He Test Lead is part of a team of several test leads who is responsible for the planning, preparation, and execution of Nitrogen/Helium (N2He) leak testing activities for designated piping systems, equipment, and packages related to the delivery and integration of the client's processing platform.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
The N2He Test Lead is part of a team of several test leads who is responsible for the planning, preparation, and execution of Nitrogen/Helium (N2He) leak testing activities for designated piping systems, equipment, and packages related to the delivery and integration of the client's processing platform.
- Responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and timely planning and execution of N2He leak testing for designated piping systems, equipment, and packages in accordance with Project Completion Strategy, NORSOK standards, and applicable commissioning procedures.
- Accountable for the quality and integrity of N2He test results, documentation, and handover of tested systems to the Commissioning System Responsible.
- Develop, review, and implement N2He test procedures and test packs for designated systems.
- Define test boundaries, including temporary blinds, spectacle blinds, and isolation requirements in coordination with the System Responsible.
- Ensure all test equipment (pressure gauges, He leak detectors, N2 supply) is calibrated, certified, and available prior to test execution (together with Vendor)
- Coordinate and supervise N2He testing crews, including third-party test contractors and technicians.
- Conduct pre-test safety briefings (toolbox talks) and ensure JSA/SJA are completed prior to pressurised testing activities.
- Plan and execute N2 pressure tests and He snoop/leak detection activities in sequence with construction and MC completion.
- Manage and document all test results, test records, and punch items in PIMS.

- Ensure safe depressurisation, purging, and restoration of systems following completed tests.
- Plan and call off ATS for testing activities as and when required together with System Responsible.
- Ensure spare parts, consumables, and special tools (e.g. He detectors, fittings, temporary connections) are available prior to execution.
- Provide leadership to ensure that a high level of focus is maintained on health, safety, and the environment to achieve client’s expectations.
- Ensure a smooth transition of tested and verified systems from testing to commissioning System responsible.
- The N2He Test Lead will agree on goals for their performance with the Commissioning Lead Process, with a special focus on HSE, Quality, Schedule, Costs, Efficiency and Performance Management.
- BSc. or MSc. in Engineering or a related field or equivalent education / experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience from NORSOK projects and familiarity with NORSOK Leak testing requirements.
- Documented hands-on experience with N2/He leak testing and pressure testing of process piping and equipment on the Norwegian Continental Shelf or Onshore.
- System-based commissioning knowledge and understanding. Track record of delivery in the Oil & Gas industry and ability to demonstrate effective leak detection skills are a major advantage.
- Familiarity with Project Completions Systems and document management systems. Experience with PIMS is an advantage.
- Ability to engage and lead a team of test technicians to achieve timely execution of testing activities.
- Good knowledge of the English and Norwegian languages (both written and verbal).
