Offshore Instrument Technician – Join a Leading UK North Sea Operation

Step into a vital role at the forefront of offshore oil and gas production with our client, a major operator working across the UK North Sea.

Offshore schedule (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off) with 12-hour shifts, mobilising from Norwich with mileage reimbursement or economy travel provided. Accommodation arranged for the night before mobiliation if required.

As an Offshore Instrument Technician, you will be an essential part of a multi-skilled team dedicated to safely operating and maintaining state-of-the-art offshore processing facilities. Your expertise will directly support maximising plant availability and ensuring the seamless processing of gas from offshore fields. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with preventative maintenance, critical safety systems, and advanced instrumentation across a highly dynamic offshore environment.

Required Skills
  • Proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of instrumentation including shutdown/blowdown valves, extinguishant systems, fire & gas detection systems, fixed and portable gas detectors, level, pressure, and temperature measurement devices.
  • Strong capability in executing safety critical tasks related to Safety Instrumented Systems and Nucleonic Devices.
  • Ability to plan and perform preventative maintenance tasks in line with operational standards and procedures.
  • Proficient in completing work orders accurately within CMMS (e.g., Maximo) and initiating new work requests to address equipment issues.
  • Excellent team collaboration skills within a multi-disciplined technical and operational offshore team.
  • Thorough understanding and promotion of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements offshore.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in onshore/offshore oil & gas instrumentation roles.
  • Time-served trade apprenticeship in instrumentation or equivalent practical field experience.
  • HNC qualification in a relevant technical subject.
  • Compex certification demonstrating competency in core instrumentation skills.

  • Valid and active BOSIET/MIST certification with up-to-date medical clearance, no restrictions.
