NES Fircroft are looking for an Offshore Project Control Lead to join a major operator in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Project Control Lead will support the Offshore Project Manager in the organization, management, and control of the project, and deputize as required. The role is responsible for driving robust project controls across contracts, cost, planning, documentation, risk, and reporting, ensuring full compliance with Company procedures and contractual requirements.

The Project Control Lead will support the Offshore Project Manager in the organization, management, and control of the project, and deputize as required. The role is responsible for driving robust project controls across contracts, cost, planning, documentation, risk, and reporting, ensuring full compliance with Company procedures and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective control of project packages including progress monitoring, equipment delivery, invoice processing, cost reporting, documentation, and commercial matters.
- Monitor progress using Primavera on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Track equipment deliveries and ensure timely issuance of interim certificates when conditions are met.
- Manage and process all invoices (progress, milestones, reimbursable, variation orders, expenses, etc.).
- Maintain and update correspondence registers and prepare/review contractor communications.
- Log and report contract execution expenditures to PMT.
- Forecast payments in line with contracts and prepare package budget S-curves, comparing actual vs planned performance.
- Administrate detailed engineering documentation and ensure timely contractor responses in line with contractual requirements.
- Liaise with partners and concessionaire teams to validate variation orders prior to execution.
- Challenge contractor variation orders to ensure value for the Company while maintaining fairness.
- Close out audit reviews and manage package-level administrative matters.
- Prepare routine project activity reports for PMT.
- Attend monthly project package meetings.
- Report on package control activities to the management
- Ensure alignment and accurate information flow between Company teams and contractor counterparts.
- Promote rigor in data validation and completeness before execution of work.
- Drive creative, pragmatic solutions while challenging substandard deliverables.
- Ensure adherence to Company rules, procedures, and contract terms.
- Maintain high standards in planning, cost control, and contract administration.
- Assist in overall project organisation, management, and control, deputising for the Offshore Project Manager when required.
- Deliver comprehensive project controls coverage (contracts, schedule, cost, HR, risks, IT, documentation, reporting).
- Ensure project controls activities are optimized and fully aligned with Company standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Immediately escalate any deviation from internal or external commitments.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 15–20 years’ professional experience in major oil & gas projects.
- 10–15 years’ experience in contract, cost, and planning control/administration.
- Experience managing multicultural teams in international environments.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Fluent English (French language familiarity beneficial).
