Fitter / Welder (TIG – GTAW) Location: Houston, Texas
We are currently hiring experienced Fitter/Welders to support the assembly, maintenance, and repair of advanced gas turbine and compressor systems at a leading global energy engineering company. This is a long-term contract opportunity with strong potential for extension and full-time conversion.

We are currently hiring experienced Fitter/Welders to support the assembly, maintenance, and repair of advanced gas turbine and compressor systems at a leading global energy engineering company. This is a long-term contract opportunity with strong potential for extension and full-time conversion.
Compensation
- $30.00 – $42.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Overtime available at premium rates
- Full-time hours with a consistent schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on stainless steel piping and structural components
- Fit, tack, and weld assemblies in accordance with detailed engineering drawings and welding standards
- Assemble, install, inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical components related to gas turbines and compressor systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical assembly instructions
- Follow qualified welding procedures in alignment with ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code requirements
- Operate welding equipment, cutting tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Assist with equipment alignments and part installations
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet specifications and timelines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety policies
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years of welding and mechanical fitting experience in a manufacturing or shop environment
- Strong experience with TIG (GTAW) welding, particularly on stainless steel
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and fabrication instructions
- 6G pipe welding experience or certification in accordance with ASME standards
- Experience working with rotating equipment such as gas turbines and compressors
- Background in industrial manufacturing, energy, or heavy equipment environments
- Familiarity with precision assembly and working within tight tolerances
- Full-time schedule with overtime opportunities
- Approximately 15% travel may be required
- Physical role requiring prolonged standing and lifting up to 40 lbs
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
