The Power Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of a 150MW gas‑fired power plant supplying electricity to field facilities and the Iraqi national power grid (132kV).
The role acts as the Contract Accountable Manager (CAM) for the O&M contract, ensuring performance delivery against KPIs for availability, reliability, and integrity. The post holder will also serve as the Single Point of Accountability (SPA) for managing interfaces with internal facilities, development projects, and external stakeholders such as the Iraqi power grid operator and Ministry of Electricity (MoE).
Key responsibilities include HSSEQ leadership, contract and contractor management, stakeholder coordination, and leading the training, development, and transition of operations from the EPC/O&M contractor to the Iraqi national organisation.
The plant consists of 5 Frame 6 Gas Turbines, fuel gas compressors, fuel gas conditioning packages, and associated electrical and utility systems, supplied by two operated Degassing Stations.

Key Requirements
- Engineering degree or strong equivalent operational background
- 10+ years’ experience in senior power plant operations/management
- Proven HSSE leadership in power generation environments
- Strong contract and contractor management experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to drive alignment and a “One Team” culture
