Role Summary:

We are searching for an experienced power systems engineer on behalf of one of our clients, a leading tier 1 consultancy in Australia. Our client has a global team of electricity experts have been tackling the most intricate problems for some of the most prominent industry stakeholders for over 20 years.
The primary purpose of this role is to carry out projects across the generation, transmission and distribution sectors. The location of this role is in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Power Systems Manager in Auckland, you will:
• Conduct and coordinate technical studies related to grid connection of renewable
energy projects
• Assist with PSCAD and PSS/E modelling according to NZ standards and 5.3.4
AEMO standards.
• Enhance personal competence in several specialised technical areas, such as:
power quality, electromagnetic transients – but is not essential
• Help with deliverables, schedules and budgets for client projects and studies
• Serve as technical lead for consulting engagements within the Power Systems
service offering.

Required Experience:
• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering
• 2-3 years’ experience in power system analysis in generation
• Full legal working rights in New Zealand or Australia
• Good understanding of PSS/E and PSCAD network simulation software will be highly
regarded along with using python scripting as a supporting tool.
• Ability to work to deadlines and exceed client expectations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
