Our client Woodside in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Principal Risk Adviser to join them for a 6-month contract.
Reporting to the Corporate Risk Team Lead, this is a 6-month parental leave cover opportunity for a senior-level Principal Risk Adviser who can work autonomously and partner closely with leaders across the business.
The role is focused on leading enterprise risk management activities across Woodside’s corporate pillars, with particular emphasis on emerging risk management, stakeholder engagement and the application of risk management frameworks. You will provide strategic guidance, challenge and expertise to senior leaders and executives, helping them understand risk profiles, manage key exposures and support informed decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead enterprise risk management activities across the corporate pillars, supporting a consistent and practical application of Woodside’s risk management frameworks.
- Provide trusted advice, guidance and challenge to senior leaders and executives on current and emerging risks, including preparing and presenting insights to support decision-making.
- Manage and maintain the emerging risk profile, identifying key themes, trends and exposures across the organisation.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across corporate functions to support risk identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting.
- Facilitate risk discussions, workshops and review sessions with senior stakeholders to strengthen risk ownership and accountability.
- Support the ongoing development and continuous improvement of enterprise risk management practices, tools and reporting.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to key deliverables within a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Approximately 10 years’ experience in corporate risk, compliance, legal or a related discipline, with the ability to operate effectively in a senior advisory capacity.
- Strong experience in risk management and risk management frameworks, ideally within a complex corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and present to senior leaders and executives.
- Proven capability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within a short-term assignment.
- Experience partnering with corporate functions and managing stakeholder relationships across diverse business areas.
- Oil and gas industry experience is preferred but not essential.
- Relevant qualifications are valued, however discipline background is flexible and may include compliance, risk, legal or similar fields.
