MISSIONS
The service holder’s overall responsibility is:
- Accountable for the LNG PLANT Process Engineering studies including from Vendors and Licensors delivered or updated until the LNG Plant start-up.
- Review and challenge the design changes and change orders from the EPC Contractors (Plant, Tank and Sohar package) ensuring process design consistency and operability.
- Coordinate Process engineering activities with other technical disciplines including operation ones (mechanical, electricity, instrumentation, etc.), which implies interfaces management skills and leadership towards other packages.
- Support the commissioning and start‑up team as well as operations by technical assistance as required (simulation, sequence, transient case analysis, procedure, performance guarantee, etc).
- Initiate and supervise specific process analysis when necessary or when required by the Project.
- Support the process control schemes development and completion ensuring stable operation of the overall Plant (normal operating mode, degraded situation, maintenance, etc. )
- Provide process expertise for any technical audits required by partners’ headquarters, banks, insurance companies or the Board of Directors.
- Participate in process meetings with Contractors and give Instructions/Orientations according to main project objectives.
- Report to the engineering manager highlighting concerns encountered.
- Provide technical assistance as required to the Lead and Area Managers and Project Management Team.
- Avoid contractor stand‑by/delays by prompt response to engineering queries, waiver requests, and unexpected technical issues through a proactive approach.
- Gain knowledge of Omani norms and practices and use them when relevant.
- Prepare Lessons Learnt and Feedback reports.
- Prepare REX and Lessons Learnt throughout the FEED.
- Contribute to personnel skills improvement and knowledge transfer. Contribute to the advancement of working methods and tools within the speciality.
- Adopt and demonstrate exemplary HSE behaviour, respect Project HSE requirements, and ensure proper implementation.
- Ensure that the design is developed until start‑up in line with the Statement of Requirements.
- Review and perform facilities process engineering studies & design, safety and technical reviews/audits, and material PO.
- Set up and maintain work plans with the engineering contractor (or internal organisation) to ensure deliverables are issued on time.
- Participate in necessary technical arbitration in electrical engineering in the event of conflicts of opinion.
- Report to the engineering manager regularly and when decisions impacting the works or Engineering must be taken.
- Ensure reviews and comments of contractor’s documents are performed in due time.
- Propose actions required for proper execution of all activities.
- Ensure confidentiality of all produced documentation.
- Performance of the LNG plant process in continuity with detailed engineering results.
- Control of shareholder technical support (cryogenic expert and AGRU licensed expert).
- Frequent technical alignment between Start‑up team and Field operations when relevant.
- Communication to shareholders on process‑related matters.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & BACKGROUND
- Process/Chemical Engineer with >10 years’ experience in gas treatment and/or LNG plants detailed design, including licensors.
- Several years of proven experience in EPSCC/operation stages of gas treatment projects, including process simulation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of project development and methods used for dossier submission, permitting processes, and technical approvals.
- Fluent in English.
